Ha - I remember when i was 8 and took apart Dad's drill to see how it worked and couldn't put it back together again. He wasn't pleased to loose a perfectly good drill but at least he didn't yell at me because I was trying to learn afterall!! So be sure you also teach the kids not to take apart stuff that works!!!

Your relationship with your son seems so special and it just makes me smile. My husband and our 39 month old son are sleeping in the back yard on the trampoline in sleeping bags and blankets for the first time. This really is a bittersweet moment for me. I am a photo junky and cannot seem to go to sleep. I keep sneaking out onto the balcony to take pics of them and just watch them. Tommorrow we will probably try to catch some bugs, identify, and study them just like you and your boy. It seems like such a great and sweet activity not to mention a memory maker...

I just found the most beautiful caterpiller this afternoon on our driveway. It is furry yellow with a black head & feet and then has 4 black strands of hair sticking out of his back in 4 different spots and then 1 on the end of his body. Any ideas as to what it is or what it will become?

I suggest you visit the link "What is this Caterpillar?" above and look thru the pictures. Sorry, but I don't think there is an easy way to find the answer :(

Don't worry, Coco the Clown was real. I watched the cartoon in Phila., PA. during the 60's. I also remember the theme song! He had a sidekick, I think, who popped out of the inkwell, with him.

Hi, We have 2 dozen grapes vines going. Today we discovered a small 1 inch caterpillar that resembles a bark of wood, on our grape leaves. would you know what it is? & if it is beneficial or not? Thank you so much, TMC

I found out that I photographed at a very young age by looking through old family photos. I was holding a camera in many of them.
